We have had the great privilege of being a part of so many wonderful and exciting causes, and this past weekend was no exception. We were so honored and so grateful to have once again sponsored this year’s Colorfest in New Bern, NC.
A cause worthy of great recognition and achievement, this event showcased the truest sense of community. More than 100 kids of all ages came out to help us paint murals around town in effort to beautify the communities and historic landmarks of New Bern. This was our fourth year hosting this event, and we couldn’t be happier with the warm response and all of the participation from the surrounding communities.
It was a fun-filled weekend spreading the gifts of philanthropy, community, laughter and engagement. Everyone came together for one shared vision to promote togetherness and strengthen community ties among neighbors, friends and family. From painting the murals together, to judging chalk art competitions, to skating around town, to dancing to music – we had a blast!
Colorfest has been a great opportunity for everyone involved and a a chance for youth to grow with their community by giving back in a special way through beautification projects. Everyone who has participated has gained a great sense of pride and ownership of their hometown. We are so excited to see such great turnouts, year after year, and we can’t wait to come back and continue this tradition with plans already in place all the way through 2016!
