With so many exciting summer events wrapping up, we can’t help but look ahead to everything that the upcoming season means for Millennium Sports Management Group. Last year, we had a very exciting time, especially around the holidays. Kevin Powell’s annual holiday party and clothing drive, for example, was a huge success last December. It was presented by our very own friend and client, Sheldon Richardson, and we were thrilled to be a part of it.
Looking back, we are still so impressed and proud of Sheldon’s commitment in becoming a pillar of philanthropy and kindness in his community. It continues to be such a pleasure and a privilege to have these opportunities to work with such generous athletes and public figures who want to use their platform to make a positive impact. That is, after all, what MSMG is all about.
Last year’s event was held at Stage 48 in New York City. Sheldon, along with the MSMG team, joined forces with Kevin Powell, one of the most acclaimed political, cultural, literary and hip-hop voices in America today, to make a difference in the lives of so many in and around their community. Through a passion and desire to reach out and help those in need, Sheldon whole-heartedly joined the fight against homelessness in the greater New York City area by aiding in the raising of funds and awareness of local charities.
All of those who came out to be a part of the event and clothing drive, generously gave monetary donations as well as new and used clothing to benefit the Safe Horizon’s Streetwork Project, a program that helps more than 20,000 homeless teens and young adults, every single year, find temporary and permanent housing. They also supply them with many of the basic essentials necessary for everyday living.
The clothing drive has quickly become one of the most anticipated and successful charity events of the holiday season. We, here at MSMG, alongside Sheldon Richardson, are so thankful to have been a part of this admirable tradition, now in its 16th year. It is our collective mission to remain committed to making meaningful impacts in our communities (and helping our clients do the same) through partnerships with such dedicated charities as the Safe Horizon’s Streetwork Project.
Safe Horizon provides help and refuge to those young people in need on the streets. They’re a critical resource in providing support, preventing violence, and promoting justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families, and their communities. It’s a cause that Sheldon fully and proudly supports, and we are thrilled to support all of this right alongside him.
Here at MSMG, we make it our mission to reach out and show our support to all of our immediate, surrounding communities, as well as all of our clients’ communities. This is what we do best and what we have built our reputation on. MSMG is known for helping our athletes accomplish their philanthropic goals, and we couldn’t be more proud to have helped our dear friend, Sheldon Richardson, realize his goal.
