New York Jets linebacker and Kinston-native Quinton Coples held his annual QC Honors fundraising gala Friday night at the Woodmen Community Center in Kinston.
The event recognized community leaders and handed out scholarships to high school students.
Among those in attendance were former Super Bowl champion Vonta Leach, former New Orleans Saint Kevin Reddick and Coples’ coach at North Carolina Butch Davis.
Coples has made it a priority to give back to Kinston. He holds sports camps in town every summer and hands out turkey dinners during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
The former Tar Heel is heading into his 4th year with the Jets.
